Special Project in Sarasota, Florida

After Hurricane Ian hit the Gulf coast of Florida in 2022, the Badgerland Exteriors team headed south.

The insurance claim process in Florida is intense and time consuming, but once the approvals went through, the roofing crew arrived at this Sarasota condo complex.

After all of the materials were delivered, the roofing crew got to work. Like a well-oiled machine, they started tearing off damaged shingles, old underlayment, and checking the integrity of the decking (the plywood-like base of the roofing system). Any rotted decking was replaced before the new underlayment was laid and finally the new shingles.

This same process was repeated on all the buildings within the association, and inspectors were checking in along the way. The gutter crew followed after each building's roof was complete.

Once the work is complete but before the crews pack up for good, the project managers and association members do a final walk through. Once each punch list item is complete ad it is clear all work meets the appropriate standards, the crews can pack up.

The crew first tore off the damaged shingles and old underlayment. The decking will be examined to see if any pieces are rotten. If so, they will be replaced prior to installing the new protective layers.

New shingles are installed which will keep these condos safe and dry for years to come. Inspections take place throughout the process to insure the materials are installed to the correct standards.
